Elsie Mae Auzenne

Lake Charles-Elsie Mae Auzenne, 70, was called home to be with her heavenly father on Sunday March 3, 2013 at 1:40 p.m.

Elsie was born on April 9, 1942 to Gabriel and Layia Guillory in Mamou, La.  She was united in marriage to Paul Edward Auzenne Sr. on May 29, 1965.  From this union they were blessed with six children.  As a faithful member of St. Henry Catholic Church for the past 40 years, she valued her Christian beliefs and was never afraid to pass it on to anyone she encountered.  As a dedicated wife, mother, cousin and friend she always loved visiting with family and was never one to sit still for too long.  On any given day as a free spirit, you could find her traveling as she would say “Just to get out of the house”.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel and Layia Guillory, her husband Paul Auzenne Sr., her son Paul Auzenne Jr. and her brother James Guillory.

Survivors include her three sons, Scott Auzenne of Kaplan La, Christopher Auzenne of Atlanta Ga and Michael(Ashleigh) Auzenne of Houston Tx.  Two daughters Antoinette and Michelle Auzenne of Lake Charles La. One brother, Louis (Rose) Guillory of Lake Charles and one sister, Ann Sias of Lake Charles.  Eleven grandchildren that she adored: Taylor, Tyra, Gabrielle, Destinee, Jasmyne, Amiyah, Celine, Sean, Madison, Londyn and Christian; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be at Combre Funeral Home in Lake Charles La from 8:30am to 10:40am.  A Christian Funeral Mass will be at 11:00am at St. Henry Catholic Church with interment at Sacred Heart Cemetary.

The family would like to thank the dedicated and caring staff of Harbor Hospice and Lake Charles Care Center.
